The website describing one very exciting MET Fund project is now up and running. The VirBELA immersive 3D virtual world at the University of California, San Diego’s Rady School is currently being built by MBA students. The project seeks to engage an environment of globally dispersed teams of MBA students to collaborate and compete in business simulations. The simulations will be designed to not only challenge students’ business acumen, but also their abilities to work on cross-cultural/cross-national teams effectively and efficiently.
The environment is being designed to allow for student networking, counseling and coaching, and to host virtual meetings and conferences. When the project officially launches this fall, it will begin with a contest awarding US $50,000 in prizes and scholarships to groups of students working together running a car company.
